Cook, finish errands, settle accounts, and tell the household the hours are coming. Hurry on Friday is often unbelief about Saturday.

The Rest of the Holy Sabbath unto the LORDExodus 16:1-30
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. This is the sign of sanctification, the forgotten delight, and the first principle of the oracles of God.
Keep the Sabbath holy by staying in place to be still on the seventh day (sundown Friday to sundown Saturday).
To be still, in holy convocation with the Spirit of Creation (Exodus 16:28-30; 35:3, Leviticus 23:3, Psalm 4:4, Matthew 24:20).

See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. Exodus 20:8 tells us to remember the initial and primary sabbath instruction given in Exodus 16:29. Anything apart from the instruction in Exodus 16:29 is secondary, and an add-on to that foundation: abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
This is what the Lord says: Watch out! If you value your lives, do not carry anything on the day of rest—a holy day or bring it through the gates of Jerusalem. Do not bring anything out of your homes on the day of rest. Do not do any work, but observe the day of rest as a holy day, as I told your ancestors. Your ancestors did not obey me or pay attention to me. They were impossible to deal with and would not listen or accept discipline.

Begin at sundown Friday
The day is not midnight to midnight. Holy time opens when the sun goes down. Light the evening as the LORD's, not as leftover Friday night.

Cease ordinary work
No commerce, no common labor, no self-directed scramble. The commandment is plain: in it thou shalt not do any work.

Stay in place
Abide ye every man in his place. The roaming will is what the day bridles. Rest is a location, not a mood.

Kindle no fire
Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day. Prepare heat and food on the sixth day.

Call it a delight
No communal worship, no Scripture reading, just communion with His Spirit upon your bed in stillness (Psalm 4:4, 8). Put your trust in Him, sleep, Honor His ways — not your own ways, not your own words.

Hold until sundown Saturday
Do not steal the last hours. The week begins again when the sun goes down on the seventh day — not when you grow restless.
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth.

If the household around you will not keep it, keep it anyway. Pray repentance over the dull of hearing. Do not become bitter. The Greater One who is in you is greater than the custom that forgot the day.
