Preparing for the Day of Blowing the Trumpets and the Seventh Month

Beloved brothers and sisters of The Greater One Church,

The first day of the seventh month is at the door. On Sunday, August 30, we enter a Sabbath for blowing the trumpets, a memorial, and a holy convocation appointed by the Lord Himself. Awaken to the blast.

This is not a man-made tradition. It is a command from heaven.

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Leviticus 23:24-25 · KJV

And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.

Numbers 29:1 · KJV

The trumpet is heaven’s voice made audible. When it sounds, God is not decorating a ceremony. He is summoning a people.

Why This Day Matters

The seventh month is unlike any other month of the year. It opens with the trumpet, moves into the Sabbath of atonement, and culminates in the Feast of Tabernacles and the Ingathering. The first blast is the door. Everything that follows in this month is announced by that sound.

The Day of Trumpets is:

A memorial — not of human achievement, but of God’s call, God’s kingship, and God’s approaching work among His people.

A Sabbath — a day to cease from servile work and give the Lord our full attention.

A holy convocation — a sacred assembly, not a private opinion, not an optional extra.

A beginning — the opening of the most concentrated season of appointed times in the entire year.

The Spiritual Meaning of the Trumpet Blast

Every blast carries a message. Scripture shows us what that message is.

1. Wake up.

Joel 2:1 says, “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain.” The trumpet is an alarm to the sleeping soul. It says: the season has changed. Ordinary time has ended. Sacred time has begun.

2. Gather yourselves.

In Numbers 10, the trumpets called the congregation together before the Lord. The sound still gathers the remnant — not only into one place, but into one heart, one obedience, and one hope.

3. The King is near.

God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.

Psalm 47:5 · KJV

The blast is a coronation sound. It proclaims that the Lord alone is King over His people and over the year that is opening.

4. Prepare for judgment and mercy.

Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid?

Amos 3:6 · KJV

The trumpet warns, but it also makes room for return. That is why this day stands just before the tenth day of the month — the Sabbath of rest in remembrance of the permanent atonement made by the blood of Christ.

5. Rise for battle.

When Israel went to war, the trumpet was sounded so that the Lord would remember them and fight for them (Numbers 10:9). The blast is a spiritual declaration: we will not sleep through the conflict. We take our stand under the banner of the Lord of Hosts.

6. Look toward the last trumpet.

The earthly blast points to a greater one:

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:52 · KJV

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 · KJV

Every trumpet we honor now trains the ear for the trumpet we will not miss then.

7. Worship with holy joy.

The same instrument that warns also praises. “Praise him with the sound of the trumpet” (Psalm 150:3). After the alarm comes the song. After the gathering comes the rejoicing. The King who calls us is also the King who keeps us.

How We Are to Keep This Day

The Word is clear and simple:

Treat it as a Sabbath — cease from ordinary labor.

Treat it as a holy convocation — assemble unto the Lord in memorial of blowing of trumpets — let the sound, the Scripture, and the meaning fill the day.

Offer yourself as a living sacrifice — not the old offerings of bulls and goats, but a heart made ready by the blood of Christ.

This is not a day for distraction. It is a day to hear.

What This Day Opens

Do not isolate August 30, the first day, from the rest of the seventh month. The trumpet is the first word of a longer sentence:

August 30 — the first day: Day of the Blowing of Trumpets.

September 7/8 — the tenth day: a Sabbath of rest in remembrance of the permanent atonement by the blood of Christ for the forgiveness of sins.

September 13–20 — the fifteenth through the twenty-second: the Feast of Tabernacles, the Ingathering of the saints, and the Feast of the Lord.

The trumpet says: prepare. The tenth day says: be cleansed. The fifteenth day says: dwell with Him.

Read Leviticus 23:23-43 before Sunday. Let the Lord Himself teach you how these days are to be kept. Do not come into the seventh month guessing. Come instructed.

A Charge to Greater One Church

Beloved, eagerly look forward to Sunday. Clear what can be cleared. Quiet what can be quieted. Come awake.

The blessing of God rests on those who honor His appointed times — not as a burden, but as a holy privilege. The trumpet is mercy. It is warning. It is invitation. It is the sound of a Father calling His children to attention before He draws nearer still.

Do not sleep through the blast.

Do not treat the first day of the seventh month as common.

Let the sound find you ready.

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 · KJV

May this Day of Trumpets awaken The Greater One Church. May it gather us. May it crown the Lord as King in our midst. As the glory of this latter house shines greater than of the former, by our obedience to His covenanted word to stay in place and be still with His Spirit of peace on the seventh day; then will He give peace (Haggai 2:4-5, 9).

The trumpet is about to sound.
