Seek First the Kingdom

The kingdom is not sought by slogans. It is not a mood we enter on Sunday morning, and it is not a list of needs we recite until heaven relents. Our Father already knows what we need. The instruction is older and sharper than that: seek first His kingdom and His righteousness — and the rest is added.

What seeking actually is

To seek the kingdom is to put His government first in the order of a life. Intercede for others. Keep the commandments. Honour the Sabbath. Walk the statutes that still train a holy people. Righteousness is not a feeling we wait to have. It is a path we walk while the feeling is still catching up.

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Matthew 6:31-32 · KJV

The nations seek their own provision as the main work of prayer. The remnant seek His kingdom, and provision follows as a consequence, not a campaign. This is why we are not to make our needs the center of the altar. We are to make His will the center, and trust the Father with the rest.

Righteousness has a day in the week

You cannot seek His righteousness while despising His rest. The seventh day is not a side issue in the kingdom. It is the weekly act by which a people say, with their bodies, that God is King and their labour is not. Remain in place from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. Call it honourable. That is kingdom first — not in theory, in time.

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Romans 14:17 · KJV

Righteousness, peace, and joy — in that order. Peace does not arrive to people who will not stop. Joy does not settle on a house that treats the holy day as optional. Seek first. Walk first. The added things have never been the problem. The seeking has.
