The tenth day of the seventh month
The holiest fast. Under the New Covenant we do not bring goats — we come by the blood of the Lamb. Still the day remains: humble the soul, confess, and be clean. Grace is not permission to skip the affliction of the tenth day.
All appointed timesAlso on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
